Crafters of Faith - July

Welcome to the Crafters of Faith posting for July!

Kelly, is our hostess this month.  She posted a verse of scripture that moved her to challenge us to make a card with the theme of water.

Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them." ~ John 7:38

There are bonus points - wait, I think she said brownie points {are there real brownies anywhere close?!} if we use the color blue as well.  Shoot, now I want a brownie!

I have limited water image choices.  I have an image file that I keep stamped images in.  Most are received via a swap on SCS, or through image swaps I have been a participant in.  The image swaps were a good way to build a little stash of images inexpensively.

The image I used was received from an image swap, so I do not know the company or image name to credit.  I thought he was cute and my dad likes fishing, so there you go, a card for dad!

I cannot wait to see with the other girls have created.  You can see as well, by visiting their blogs at the links on the right sidebar.

Have  a great day!

Calendar Girls - July

Calendar Girls time!  Yay us!!!

Linda, is our hostess for July.  She requested that we make a card that has a cute and cuddly image on it.  I went through my image files.  I chose this adorable image from Penny Black.  It is named Tiny Wishes.  I received the image from an image swap quite some time ago.  I thought she would work perfectly for this challenge.

Please be sure and visit the other Calendar Girls.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.  You will be in for a great time!

Dueling Darlings - July

Shut the front door!  I am on time with the Dueling Darling post.  Yay!!!

Our July kit came from our hostess, Barb.   I know I say this every month, but wow, there was so much to work with in that kit!  Thank you, Barb.

Our duel this month is themed Cool Creations.   We have an adorable image from Whipper Snapper Designs.  It is Haagen Daz Bear.  He is so very cute!

We were asked what our favorite summer treat is.  When it is summertime I enjoy all of the seasonal fruit we have to choose from.  Oh okay, and a little ice cream!  I am totally picky on what brand and flavor - I know, you are shocked!  LOL

I tried to use as many embellishments as I could from the kit for this card.  I even got my 'inner use a button' on!  Kelly, would be proud.

For my 'use what'cha got' phase, I pulled out some pretty old Stampin' UP! cardstock.  Any of you remember Taken With Teal?  This is probably an original package!  What, aren't they referring to that as vintage now?!   LOL   I have a lot of white cardstock, so am using that often as a layer.  Again, not as fun as I would like, but gotta work it!

Please view the other Dueling Darlings cards.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.   Thanks, for stopping by....now go get some ice cream, you know you want some now!!!

Dueling Darlings - June

The quest is still on!  That is, for me to get caught up in my card groups.  LOL

Carol, was our hostess for Dueling Darlings for June.  The Diva group received the most summer fun from Carol!   There were so many fun things for the theme of flip flops and sunshine.  I had trouble choosing what to use!  Thank you, Carol.

We had a choice of images!   I went with The Greeting Farm, Anya.  I tried to use as many embellishments as I could from the card kit, to create this card.   I do hope you like it Carol, and thank you for being so patient waiting for me to create with your kit.

The due date has passed, but give yourself a treat and check out the other Dueling Darling creations.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.

Have a great day!

Crafters of Faith - June

I hope this post finds you all having had a great 4th of July!

I am a few days late in posting for the Crafters of Faith for June.  Barb, please forgive me!  Barb, is our hostess for this round.  She asked us to create a card around the theme of a dairy farm, as she grew up on a farm.

....Whhaaaattttt??....the closest thing to a dairy farm that I know is a Peanut Buster Parfait from Dairy Queen and it was next to the mall growing up!  LOL

Well, I did have a friend who had a horse and we would ride at her house.  We kind of traded riding the horse for riding a Honda Civic...wow we had some fun times in that car!  She now owns a feed store by my parents house and I think the Civic was traded for a horse trailer!

I am sure that you must think I am busting at the seams with farm themed stamps too!  Oh my.  Trouble.  I went searching through my image files.  Yay, I found a Riley and Company stamp that would work!

I located one not Sahara dry Copic marker, so Riley is sportin' a tan for this card, as the color was a bit dark.  Of course Riley reminded me of Kelly, so I had to use a button like she does so well!

So, here is Farmer Riley on his way to get a Peanut Buster Parfait at Dairy Queen!

Calendar Girls - June & Crafters of Faith - May

Hello Everyone!

In my efforts to become caught up in my crafting, I have a dual card for you today.   I hope my hostesses do not mind!

Debbie, sent us a challenge for June in the Calendar Girls.  Yep, literally sent.   You know those little dollar cling stamps?  Well, she sent a set to each of us and we were to use it in our creation {thank you!}, in addition to using anything gifted to us or under a dollar.  Now Jackie, our hostess in Crafters of Faith asked us to create a card out of love.  I thought I for sure could put these two together!  I created this card with the stamps Debbie provided and made the card out of love for my Mom.  She likes to garden and will appreciate the little fatty bug.

So, you know I am in my 'use what'cha got' phase.   Well, all of my Copics are about Sahara dry!  I found one with some ink, thus the whole card needed to be created around a Copic color!  I am such a train wreck!  LOL   I took my little marker and found enough paper scraps and DP to create two of this card.

I think the hardest part of 'use what'cha got' is cardstock sizes.  I have ideas for a layout and my cardstock is either not long enough, just a smidge not wide enough or simply not enough of it, or not enough to use the color I really want for the card base.  But dang, I have so much paper to use up, I am going to have to adjust!

I know it is a bit late, but the Calendar Girls and Crafters of Faith have some great cards to share.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.  Hope you all have a good day!

Calendar Girls - May

Yes, that was right....MAY!   I am so very far behind.  I have to apologize.  Life sure has gotten in the way as of late, but moving on to more fun things....

Our Glittah Sistah Carol, was our hostess.  She gave us a challenge to create a card with a theme of something we are looking forward to this summer.  Fun!

Well, I love watermelon.   Growing up in Oregon, it is all about the Hermie!   Yes, the Hermiston watermelon.  They are kinda famous in their own right.   The watermelons are grown in Hermiston, Oregon.  Basically, in the middle of nowhere.  There are only about 650 total acres that grow the melons.  Most stay in the Pacific Northwest.  15% go to Canada and 10% to other regions in the country.  I think it is safe to say, we are a bit piggy with the Hermies!   They do taste like no other.  They use hives of bees to pollinate the melons.  The average melon weighs in between 10 to 25 pounds.  Oh and they have a seedless variety.  * Heaven *  People have been known to wait in line for them.

While the Hermiston watermelon has their own Facebook page, do you ever wonder how to choose a ripe melon?  This article gave some insight and I like her end result!

My card depicts my love for the all mighty Hermie!  The image is from Stampin' UP!

Thanks for stopping by, to take a peek at my card.  In the meantime, I will get back to work on getting caught up!
