Crafters of Faith - November

The girls from Crafters of Faith on SCS are ready to post for our November challenge, welcome!

Mary Rose issued us a great challenge that had a theme of our favorite Christmas song.   I really had to think, as there are so many wonderful songs.

Then I knew that I had to use the 'go to first' song of the season!  It is the quintessential Christmas song, the first on the iPod, the one we have to bellow out in our best baritone voice.   Yes, White Christmas by Bing Crosby.   It has to be a Bing version!!!!  You know that we run around the house imitating Bing for days!  LOL

I thought of an image that I was gifted from my friend Darlene.  It is from Stampin' UP!.   It has that 50's look, the era that White Christmas was created. I was able to find a little bit of gingham ribbon to add to the card as requested in the challenge.

Please be sure to visit the great creations of the Crafters of Faith.  Their blog links are on the right side bar.

This verse reminds me of the holidays.  May the holiday spirit find you and you pass it on.

Corinthians 13:13 - And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

Calendar Girls - November

Welcome to the Calendar Girls November posting!

The CG's changed it up a bit this month.   We had a choice of non traditional holidays to create from.  Our task was to choose a holiday and create a card to go in theme with said holiday.

I decided upon Adopt a Senior Pet Month.   I drive past our local Humane Society often.  They have a great reader board this week.   It states "300 singles seeking companionship, inquire within"!

I went through my image box and found this 'senior' cat image.  I am not sure what company created the image, as I received it through an image swap.   I used some scrap papers and colored the image up.  Here is the final result:

You know the first song that came to me was Cats in the Cradle by Harry Chapin.....well, I remember my parents listening to that version. It is good, but I like the version from Ugly Kid Joe. So, if you are not out adopting a senior pet today, then you had better listen to this song and if you are lucky enough to still have one, call your Dad.

Please be sure and visit the other Calendar Girls, to see which holiday they chose to work with.  Their blog links are on the right side bar.

Thanks, for stopping by!

Mystery Image Swap - November

Our hostess for the Mystery Image Swap on SCS was, Terry.  She gifted us the cutest snowman image!   He is freshly stamped from My Favorite Things - Holiday Hugs Snowman.

So, the snowman reminded me of a YouTube video that my nephew showed me....yep, with a snowman!  Now this is no Frosty The Snowman, it is a LMFAO singing snowman!  Pretty funny.  While I think this is funny, some people may have a tad bit too much time on their hands!   LOL

Hope you have a great day and thanks, for stopping by.

Calendar Girls - October

Yes, October!  I am so very late for the Calendar Girls.  I am so sorry!   The worst part, is that I was the hostess for October!  Doh!!!!  Of course being late reminded me of the Carole King song!  LOL

I gave the girls a challenge that they just rocked!   Our posting date is the 28th of each month.   So, for the month of October, the tenth month, there were to be exactly ten things items on your card, excluding the card base.  For the 28th posting, two circles and eight colors.

Let's see if I counted correctly!   There is a chance I did not!   LOL

Ten Items:  3 green layers, 3 white layers, 2 burgundy layers, 1 DP layer and 1 ribbon

Eight Colors:  Green, dark burgundy, light burgundy, dark yellow, light yellow, brown, cream and white.

Two Circles:  The sentiment is in a circle layered upon a second circle.

I hope that everyone had fun with the challenge.  Again, I apologize for being late in posting.   Now I am off to get this card in the mail to meet a birthday date!

Dueling Darlings - November

Welcome to the duel!   The Dazzlers and the Divas are here for our monthly challenge.   Let the duel begin!

Planes, Trains & Automobiles are our theme this month!  While I have not seen the movie, I have heard it is funny.  I will have to add the movie to my 'to view' list.  The premise of the movie is a part of our challenge, traveling for the Thanksgiving holiday.

The first thing I thought of with travel was this song!   While I love me some Gladys, I really like this rendition from the Indigo Girls.

We spent most of our Thanksgivings at my grandparent's house, which was about an hour drive away, so no long road trips.   We eagerly anticipated the feast awaiting us!

Carol, is our hostess for this round.  She sent us the best kit containing so many travel themes.  I was tempted to use the train - I think that is where the song came from - but I went with a general travel theme.

We have a friend that is recovering from major surgery.  One of his goals is to spend the holiday with his family.  Due to this, I forewent the image and stamped the destination. I am sending him this card, so he can keep his eye on the goal.  I hope it works!

Please be sure to check out the other Dueling Darlings' creations.  Their blogs are listed on the right side bar.
