Happy 4th of July

Hello!

I seriously cannot believe that the 4th of July is just this next week.   Where is the time going?!?!  I do hope that you have some great plans to celebrate the holiday.

I was gifted an amazing card kit from a group on Facebook.   There were so many fun things in the kit, it was hard to choose what to work with.   Many punched pieces and little cute brads.   I created this card in an attempt to use as many pieces as possible.

Now get out there and wave your flag!

Calendar Girls - June

Oh, I love my Calendar Girls!   We post monthly from SCS on the 28th.   No, you do not need to check your calendar, it is not the 28th and I am a wee bit late in posting!

Our great challenge this month came from, Michelle.   It was to use a specific sketch and to represent something for summer.  Fun!

I am so not a purple or pink girl, well not so much.  So, I was surprised that I felt like making a purple card.  Of course due to the first statement, I have a ton of older than dirt Stampin' UP! Lovely Lilac paper!  LOL   Down the purple path I went.  You know I had to listen to this song while making my card!

Summer made me think of friends.   Purple friends!   Like my friend, who loves all things purple and will be getting this card!   That girl can find so many things in purple.  It really is an amazing thing!  She also knows her way around a Nordstrom like no one's business!

I found another older than dirt Stampin' UP! set Watercolor Garden, circa 2000, to use on this card.  I also have three embellies on this card received from three different SCS friends.   Perfect!

In my haste and having to make this card today in cracks of time, I am a tad bit off with the sketch.  The floral panel should be tilted.  I measured, cut and glued before I remembered.....my friend will never know if you don't tell her!

Dueling Darlings - June

Hello my friends!   I have to apologize for my delay in getting my Dueling Darlings card posted this month.   It was a busy week and weekend.  I am glad to say that all is accomplished {albeit a smidge late on some} and the list is checked!

Our kit for the SCS Diva's was gifted by, Jamie.  She send the best kit, thank you!  I loved the theme, papers and that she send the entire kit in blue AND brown.  We're so dang lucky!!!

I created two of this card.  Yes, on top of all of the above Jamie, sent enough to make two cards in each color.  There were some great images in addition to the one that I used on this card.  A great world nautical theme.

The challenge portion of the kit was to mention a special guy in our life.  I gave this card to my dad.  I am so very lucky to have a great dad.  He is the best!  I appreciate all that he has provided for our family, the care he gives to my mom, how he slyly checks to make sure I have enough gas in the car to get home when I visit, how he thought ahead to buy me some orange Tic Tacs {and it was the big box because he knew I would eat them all} when we ran errands last,  the patience he has when my grandma calls that she urgently needs toothpaste and has three tubes already and how he worries that I am driving somewhere when it is dark outside.  All in all, I think it is probably best he never met that boy that was in a band that I dated way back when!   LOL  Oh, and if any of you know how to get him off of purchasing the 10 for $10 items at the grocery store, I am looking for ideas!

I hope that you all had a great Father's Day, while in person, by distance or fond memory. Please check out all of the Dueling Darlings creations.  Their blog links are on the right sidebar.  Thanks, for stopping by!

Welcome to Miami

It's gettin' a little sunny out there!   It is time for the Unidentified Image Swap on SCS.   Our hostess for this round of the swap is, Kelly.

Kelly, sent us an image from Kraftin' Kimmie Stamps.  The image is Florence.  This image was to inspire us to think of the beach, ocean and Florida.  Well, I know that Kelly really likes bold colors, so I had to use some of them.  Then I remembered some DP that she had gifted in a card kit.   I went on the hunt!  I came up with both papers to create the card with.

I had to laugh when I checked in with our group to see how they created with the same image.   I interpreted Florence to have on old school tube socks and colored as such.  I remember thinking that it was odd that she was 'beachy' and wearing socks.  Oh. My. Goodness.   I think they were supposed to be capri pants for pity sake!   LOL   Well, my Flo has cold feet!  Yeah, that's it!

You know that I usually have to listen to some music when I craft.  Well, this image and theme was Florida.   It made me think of this song....the video made me giggle!    I do hope I did our Old School Tube Sock Flo just a little justice!
