Certain Someone Ribbon

A Certain Someone sent me some cute ribbon.  I wanted to post a picture of the use of the ribbon for that Certain Someone to see.  The colors looked a wee bit better in person than photographed.

I neglected to take a picture of the back.....sorry!  There was a flap with a large eyelet in the center of the flap.  I ran another piece of the ribbon through the eyelet and knotted it.  I then wound it around a button that I adhered with a dimensional.

I had to create an envelope quite on the fly yesterday!  It was something that I scheduled for later in the week and DH needed right away.   I literally threw this one together, so again, we are looking at the cute ribbon!

Thanks, Certain Someone!

Mystery Swap For December

It is finally time that we can post our Mystery Swap images!   Yay!!!

A group of fine girls on the SCS site are in a mystery swap.  We swap cards every other month.  One person sends out an image and can send out a little sumpin' sumpin' with the image too.  From there, we all create a card with those same items.  It is fun to see how different everyone's cards can be from the same basics.

This swap our fabulous hostess April, sent out an image from The Greeting Farm, Anya in the Spotlight.   I colored her with Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencils.

There was a little sumpin' sumpin' too.   It was decorative tape.   It was an interesting element to work with.   I think I read somewhere it was MURDEROUS tape!   LOL   It was a little challenging, but fun to work with an new product.  I was not sure how much tape was on the roll, so decided to put the tape on cardstock and then used a punch to create shapes.   It actually gave the tape a little thickness with the cardstock underneath and I was able to place the punches where I needed.

Here is the card that I sent in for the swap.  I hope that the girls like it!  Thanks for taking a peek.

Santa Called

When I saw this image as a digi freebee at Bugaboo Stamps, I instantly thought of my brother.   I had to send it to him!  I used the sketch challenge from Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog.   Here is the Christmas giggle:

The card base and white layers are Conqueror CX22 Diamond White.  The red cardstock layer is paper I had on hand.  The green layers are from Stampin' UP! Glorious Green.  It is Cuttlebugged with the Candy Cane Stripe embossing folder.

The ribbon is from Craft Essentials at Joann's.   The snowflake brad is Reflections at Michael's.  The rhinestone is from Hero Arts.

I colored the cute Bugaboo image with Prisma Colored Pencils.  I chalked around the image - I know, I broke out the chalks!  I used Stickles for the edge of the hat.

I hope Santa really doesn't call.......

Christmas 2010

Merry Christmas!

It is finally time to send out the 2010 cards.   I am a bit behind this year.  I am usually the card that you receive on December 1st.   Well, not so much this year!

I seemingly got bogged down by the 500 extra rhinestones that I decided to add to my cards.   Yeah, 500.   I know, what was I thinking?!   I still have some to complete, but they are going to start their journey to a 100 homes tomorrow and the rest of this week.   Here is the card - yes with the rhinestones - that will be going out this year.

The cardstock base and ribbon is Stampin' UP! Old Olive.  The white layers are Conqueror CX22 Diamond White.  The red layer of cardstock is Stampin' UP! Ruby Red.

The DP is from K & Company, Brenda Walton, Peppermint Twist Merry Words.  I found it after Christmas last year, for only $.25 per sheet!  I really liked it.  Well, then I found out why.   When I went on the annual Christmas Card Making Weekend trip with my girlfriends, we were going around showing our card and what we needed to do and one friend started to laugh.  I of course asked why.  She said that was the paper she used on her cards the year before and I was there when she bought it! Oh. For cripe sake.  Um, well, I did get it for 75% off.......  I finished the DP with an edge punch from EK Success.

I used Marvy tag punches to create the tag.  I Cuttlebugged the white layer with Swiss Dots.   I then used a Marvy and Fiskars snowflake punches.  Yes, you added right, that was 500 snowflakes as well.   I added a Reflections eyelet and then finished the tag with eyelash ribbon.  Did I forget to mention that eyelash ribbon gets everywhere?  Well, it does!

I hope that you all are having a wonderful holiday season!

We Wanna See Christmas Trees!

Of course it is the time of year to decorate for Christmas.   We have been discussing it on SCS and now, we wanna see Christmas trees!   I am following some leads of posting a picture or two of our trees this year.   Now it's YOUR turn!   I cannot wait to see your pretty trees!

Soup Recipe Card

It's winter, who wants soup?  I like soup.  Did you ever wonder when you were younger why older people always ate soup?  I did.  Now I am eating it too and you know what that means.....I must be getting older.  Yikes!

I joined a soup recipe swap on SCS.  I cannot wait to see what yummy soup recipes come back to me!  I like Split Pea Soup, so I made my card for that recipe.  Here is a peek at it:

As I mentioned before, I am trying to use my seemingly gazillion DP's before purchasing anything new.   So, I found a cute piece of Fiskars Heidi Grace Designs DP, in Oh So Loved Sweet Pea.

I had the green Bazzill paper on hand, so do not know the color name.  The pink cardstock is from Stampin' UP! and is Pink Passion.   The cream layer is Neenah Paper in Classic Cream.

The recipe is computer generated.  The flowers were punched out with a Martha Stewart punch.  The ribbon is from American Crafts.

I hope the swappers like the soup and the card.  Thanks, for stopping by!

It's December 1st!!!

It's December 1st, can you believe it?!  Where has this year gone?  Flying by it seems.   Here is the quick story behind this card....now why does this type of thing always happen to me?....

A friend on SCS opened her annual Penny Black & Whipper Snapper card swap for the holiday.   I do not happen to have any of those particular stamps.  So, in my efforts of trying to be crafty and a planner, I joined an image swap on SCS earlier this year and chose a Whipper Snapper Christmas image.   I was in!   I was locked and loaded, ready to rock the swap.   Oh yeah, until I found out that the image was not Whipper Snapper?!  What?!  That darn lady I received them from said that they were.   Well, a gracious girl in the swap sent me some images.   It was actually really fun, as it was a surprise as to what I was going to work with.

Below is the card that I sent in for the swap.  I am told it is Whipper Snapper and even if it is not, its gunna be!   LOL

I started to color the image with Copic Markers, until the two pens ran out of ink (Please note:  I am not batting a thousand on this project).   I had to improvise with Prisma Pencils. I used various Stickles for the jingle bells and lights.  I sponged the rest of the image with different inks.

The white cardstock is Conqueror CX22 Diamond White.  The layers are Stampin' UP! Ruby Red and Bashful Blue.   The DP is from Making Memories, Deck the Halls.   The ribbon is Stampin' UP! Old Olive.

I thought the image was really cute and am thankful for a thoughtful girl sending me some images.

Have a great day!
