Lure the Best

I can hardly believe that it is June, let alone Father's Day weekend!  Where has the time gone this year?!

I have had the idea in my head for this year's Father's Day card for quite a while.  It has been a busy week, so I am just getting them assembled tonight.  I am lucky in the fact that both my dad and father-in-law are avid fishermen.  This way I can use the same theme and they will both enjoy the card!

Here is Lure the Best:

I had participated in an image swap on SCS.  I asked for the Whipper Snapper 'Fisherman', specifically with Father's Day in mind.  I used Nestabilities to cut and emboss the image.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  I then distressed the background with Colorbox Chalk ink in Yellow Cadmium and Stampin' UP! Chocolate Chip ink.

I completely plagiarized the sentiment from the Whipper Snapper website, so cannot take any credit for what I think is just a too cute sentiment.  I computer generated it and used a circle punch to cut it.

Hemp cord hung the sentiment.  I used fishing lures to attach to the hemp cord, then an eyelet to attach to the card.

The card base is Speckletone paper, in Chocolate.  The DP is from My Mind's Eye Wild Asparagus line in Our Family.  I used dimensionals to pop the piece of DP that I used the Martha Stewart punch to adorn.

Wishing you all the best day with, or thoughts of, your father!  Thanks, for taking a peek at my project.
