Apple Blossom

I hope that everyone has great plans for the holiday weekend.  Whether it is busy or relaxing, enjoy your time!

I have a card to post today, which was sent to an ill friend a little bit ago.   I received the image in an image swap on SCS.  I felt like using blue as a color.  Wouldn't you know it; I found some 'Grandma Paper' again in that matstack that I cannot seem to get away from!  LOL

The card base is Stampin' Up! Not Quite Navy.  The DP is from DCWV The Cafe Mediterranean matstack.  I like how the DP has embossed flowers. The green layer is from my scrap bin.  I had the eyelets on hand.

The image titled Apple Blossom.  It is from Silver Fox Stamps and More.  It was fun to work with.  I colored the image with Copic Markers and Prismacolor Pencils.  I used Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects to texture the flower image.  I sponged the background with Stampin' Up! Creamy Caramel and Apricot Appeal inks.  I then cut the image with Nestabilities.  I used dimensionals to raise the image from the card base.

Just a quick note regarding Nestabilities.  I purchased five different types of them recently, having never used them before.  I would suggest when you purchase to get the large sets, as I went back and forth and purchased small and wished I had not.  I have found that most images take the largest die cut and then you do not have a larger die to layer with.  It has happened almost every time I have used them thus far!  I know what I will be getting soon - the SAME ONES I have, but larger!

Thanks, for taking a look and again, have a great weekend!

Please Help Sam

If you have the time to offer, please consider helping little Sam with his fight of cancer. I do not personally know Sam or his family, but can only imagine what they are going through currently and will be facing in the months to come.

You can find out how to help HERE at Pixie Dust Studio.  It is nice that something we enjoy doing, can bring a moment of happiness to someone who needs it!

Thanks and have a great day!

Bugaboo Soccer

Now why is it that most boys cannot seem to schedule themselves out of a paper bag?!  We have a business associate that is also a friend of ours.  His son's birthday is Sunday.  His wife gave him our party invitation two weeks ago, as he was going to see my husband.  Well needless to say, he forgot....until late Friday afternoon.  With a beg and plead to not tell his wife, change of plans - we now have a party to attend Sunday!

Dalton is on his first soccer team.  Soccer is one of my favorite sports, so I love to watch the kids play.  Especially when they all crowd the ball and move in a tiny herd!  When they get a little older, I like to show them how to slide tackle and watch their eyes light up when they realize that it is okay to do that!

I remembered a cute boy with a soccer ball digital image from Bugaboo Stamps.  You can look here to view digital stamps for sale from Bugaboo.  I also saw that there was a sketch challenge at Catch the Bug this week, so I used the Bugaboo digital stamp for the sketch challenge.  Here is Dalton's card:

The card base is Conqueror CX22 Diamond White, as well as the image paper.  The green colored papers are from Bazzill and were scrap pieces that I had on hand.  The DP was also from my scrap pieces, so I do not have the name.

I used Nestabilities to cut and emboss the image.  I used Cuttlebug Swiss Dots to emboss the lighter green layer.  I finished that layer with an EK Success Edger Punch.

I colored the image with Copic Markers and Stampin' Up! Markers.   The sentiment was computer generated.

I am not a huge sticker fan, but purchased a soccer ball when I could not find any soccer paper at two craft stores I flew in and out of today!  I had the ribbon and eyelets on hand.

I hope Dalton, likes his card and that he has some yummy cake at his party!  LOL   Thanks, for taking a peek at my card today.

Fender Card

My Brother-In-Law's birthday is coming up soon.  He just loves guitars and music.  Let me be more specific....he loves Fender Guitars and music!

Well, when I found a left behind Fender pick at our house, it made me think of the ever so popular Stratocaster.  It then made me think that I could use the pick on his birthday card.  Then I remembered an image from The Greeting Farm I had received from a friend at SCS.  I have only worked with one other TGF image, so it was fun to play.

So here is Rock Star Anya, with her Stratocaster and Fender pick:

The card base is Stampin' Up! Basic Black.  The second layer is Stampin' Up! Going Grey. The DP is from DCWV, Musical Notes.

The image was cut out with Nestabilities.  I then sponged the background with Stampin' Up! Going Grey ink.  The image is colored with Copic Markers.  I added a few Stickle highlights and then sprayed the image with Shimmer Sparkle Spray.

I had the ribbon and eyelets on hand.  The sentiment was computer generated.

Thanks for looking.....hey; doesn't all this guitar talk make you want to listen to some music?!  Better get goin'!

Thanks Tags

I needed to make a thank you card, for a dinner that we went to this weekend.  I used the Crafty Ho's Challenge Sketch as a template for the card.  We had a great dinner and I hope they like the card!

The card base is Conqueror CX22 Diamond White, as well as the white tags.  The green and blue layers were card stock I had on hand - I believe it was Bazill paper.  The DP is from  K & Company Amy Butler Sola Mat Pad.

I used a Stampin' Up! Sentiment from Country Greetings....are you ready for this....circa 1999!  Wow, have not used that one in a while!  LOL

The edger punch was from EK Success.  The flower punch was from Paper Shapers.  Tags were punched from Stampin' Up! punches.

I had the eyelets and the shiny whachamacallits on hand to use.  The Stickles for the flowers is Patina in color.

Thanks, for stopping by and taking a look!

Father Time

I was going through some DP the other day and came across the DP I used on this card.  It made me think of an image that I received in a SCS swap and how the two would go together well.  I am always in need of more masculine type cards, so this will work perfectly.  Here is the card:

The image is from Stampin' Up! Thinking of Father set, circa 2004.  I colored the image with Copic Markers.  I then used Nestabilities to emboss and cut the image.  I then distressed the paper with Stampin' Up! Creamy Caramel ink.  I used dimensionals to raise the image from the card.

The card stock base is Speckletone paper in Chocolate.  The second layer is Stampin' Up! Mint Melody, that I ran across the Creamy Caramel ink pad to make it look a little more bluer rather than green, so it would match the blue in the DP.   The picture depicts the paper as more green than the actual blue that it is. The DP is K & Company Classic K Margo mat pad.

I had the eyelets, brads and ribbon on hand.  I trimmed the edge with an EK Success Edger Punch.

Thanks, for stopping by!  Have a good day.

Thinking of You

Today, I needed to create a card for our neighbors.  Sadly, they had to put one of their dogs to rest.  Things will not be quite the same around here without him.  Here is the card that will be going to them:

The card base is Neenah Classic Crest in Classic Cream.  The second layer is Stampin' Up! Pumpkin Pie.  The DP paper.....I call this one Grandma Paper......is DCWV The Cafe Mediterranean matstack.   Even if it is Grandma Paper, I liked the different look.  I seem to be finding a plethora of things to do with that matstack lately!  The third layer is Stampin' Up! Old Olive.

The sentiment is from a Stampin' Up! set I have had forever and love, All Year Cheer l.  It is circa 2003.  I had the button on hand.  The button has a real pretty shimmer to it live.

I also used a Martha Stewart edger punch on the paper that I put on the inside of the card.   I will post a picture below of the interior of the card.

Thanks, for stopping by.

TLC Plum Perfect

As noted in my April 25th post, Create with TLC had this great image to work with.   I had colored the image in, but still needed to create the card.  With my parents and their love for gardening in mind, here is the completed project:

The card stock base is Neenah Classic Crest, in Classic Cream.  The green layer is Stampin' Up! Old Olive.  The DP is DCWV The Cafe Mediterranean matstack.

I used a Martha Stewart Edger Punch on the card stock at the bottom.  The ribbon is Stampin' Up! Old Olive, as well as the buttons.

I enjoyed working with the image.  I hope my parents enjoy the card as well.  Thanks, for looking!

Distressed Paint Card

Mother's Day is just around the corner, so I thought I had better get going on that card for my Mom!   Here is what came to be for her:

The card stock base is Stampin' Up! Blush Blossom.  The second layer is Stampin' Up! Basic Black.

The Stampin' Up! image was stamped onto Conqueror CX22 Diamond White card stock and colored with Copic Markers.  To add some dimension, I used Stampin' Up! Crystal Effects.

I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Distressed Stripes on the black layer.  The eyelets and ribbon I had on hand.

The distressed layer is white card stock painted with Ranger Distress Paint in Tattered Rose.  I had used the paint once prior.  I found that it is easier to just paint the paper a few days in advance and let it dry.  The paper curls a bit and then smoothes out some.   Once dry, I cut to size and inked the edges of the paper in black ink.  The photo below shows the paint and image closer.

Thanks, for stopping by to take a peek.  Don't forget to love your Mama more this week!
