Garden Riley

I just love the Riley & Company stamps.  I think that the stamps are really cute and bring a smile to the recipient of the card(s).  I participated in a swap on the SCS site.  Below is the card that I created for the swap.  I used the Garden Riley stamp.

All the white card stock is Conqueror CX22 Diamond White.  The light green card stock layer and the yellow card stock for the flower were scrap pieces I had on hand. The darker green card stock layer is Stampin' Up! Garden Green.

The DP is from DCWV Cafe Mediterranean mat stack.  It does not show well in the picture, but some of the stripes are embossed and glossy.  I finished the border with an EK Success edger punch.

I used the Cuttlebug embossing folder Spots 'N Dots for the white card stock layer and the yellow flower layer.  I also rubbed the white Cuttlebugged layer with Stampin' Up! Apricot Appeal ink for a little color.

I colored the image with Copic and Stampin' Up! Markers. I finished the image by using shimmer spray.  The extra large eyelets are from We R Memory Keepers.

Thanks, for stopping by.  Hope your day is good!

TLC Image Challenge

Create with TLC offers some really great digital sentiments and images.  They are currently offering a freebie image, to go along with a challenge.

The challenge is to color the image and make a project with it, or just the image ala cart, then e-mail a picture of your finished project to TLC.  Each person that does enter the challenge will receive a digi gift.  How nice is that?!  The catch is you only have until Sunday night to enter!

I really liked the Perfect Plum image. It reminded me of my parents and how they love to garden. I have plans for a full card, but just had time to color the image today. I went for the golden plum, for something different.

I will post the entire card, when finished. Go check out TLC and get your challenge on!

Catch A Bug

I printed this cute Bugaboo digital image out last week.  I just love how his little face looks so concerned on the image.

I created enough cards for a swap on SCS and to have some cards on hand.  Note to self....when making multiple cards try to design a layout that does not require cutting the images out, just sayin'!

The image and card base are Conqueror CX22 Diamond White cardstock.  The black layer is Stampin' Up! Basic Black.  The red layer is Stampin' Up! Real Red.

The image is colored with Copic Markers.  I used red Stickles on the ladybug body and nose.

The first layer of red is embossed with the Cuttlebug Swiss Dots embossing folder.  The second layer of red is embossed with Sizzix Dots 'N Flowers, which I am finding goes with just a ton of stuff - a good one to buy!

I used circle punches for the computer generated sentiment.  I had the flower brad on hand to use.

Although cute, I hope to not have to send these cards out anytime soon!

Welcome, Little One

I have a lunch tomorrow with two friends, to celebrate the arrival of a little one. So you know I had to go out and find the most impractical, beyond cute, how could something so little cost so much dress I could find! Oh yeah, and I need a card to go with it! Here is the card to go with:

The card base is Stampin' Up!, Chocolate Chip.  The pink layer is cardstock I had on hand.  The cream layer is Neenah Classic Crest, Classic Cream.  The DP is Sandylion Daisy Stripes.  I used an EK Success edger punch for the decorative edges.

The sentiment is from Stampin' Up! Circa 2003.  I used Colorbox ink in Chestnut and clear embossing powder.

I had the ribbon, eyelets, flowers and buttons on hand.  The flowers needed a little grunge up, so I antiqued them with a sponge and Stampin' Up! Creamy Caramel ink.

Thanks, for taking a peek!

Tropical Sophie

On this week's 'to do' list was to create some cards with a tropical theme. The task reminded me of some cards that I made at the end of last year. I had sent them out to our friends that were joining us on vacation and also used some for a swap that I was in.

I really liked the layout that I used on the blue cards....so shhh...don't tell anyone....I used it again on the orange cards! I am posting both pictures as they are different colors and images. I always like to see the same layout with different colors, don't you?  The images are from Riley & Company.

JLO Spring Flower

JessicaLynnOriginal, is having a Spring Flower Contest.  You can download the digital flower image featured on this card here for free.

I came across my watercolor pencils the other day.  I had thought 'wow, have not used these in quite awhile'.  When I saw this image, it made me think that I wanted to watercolor it, so I broke out the pencils.  Yep, it has been quite awhile!

The card stock base is Stampin' Up! Ruby Red.  The second layer is Neenah Classic Crest in Classic Cream.  The DP (in which the flowers are embossed, but do not show in the picture that way) is DCWV CafĂ© Mediterranean.

The brads, ribbon and eyelash ribbon, I had on hand.  I used dimensionals under the image.

I had fun working with the watercolors again.   Thanks, for looking and have a great day!

Prairie Fairy DT Call

For those of you who are interested, Prairie Fairy is looking for Design Team members!  In case you missed the call, you can find the information and free image here.   There is only one day left, so you had better hurry!

While I am not entering the DT call, I thought this image was really cute and wanted to create a card with it.  Here is the card that I created from the image provided:

The card base, image and embossed piece are Conqueror CX22 Diamond White cardstock.  The black layer is Stampin' Up! Basic Black.  The turquoise layer is Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise.  The DP is Colorbok.

The Prairie Fairy image is colored with Copic Markers.  The image is sprayed with Tsukineko Sheer Shimmer Spritz in Frost....which by the way, makes it really fun to photograph, just sayin'!

I used my Cuttlebug folder D'Vine Swirl, to emboss the white layer.  I then used Stampin' Up! Tempting Turquoise ink on a cotton ball and rubbed the raised embossed portion for a bit of color.

The paper flowers were punched with a Martha Stewart punch.  The brads are Reflections from Michael's.  The turquoise ribbon is Colorbok.  The white ribbon is Offray.

I enjoyed creating the card.  Thanks, for taking a peek at it!

Country Tilda

I joined a swap on SCS, which was to use one of five different stamp types.  I had images for Magnolia from a previous image swap, so decided to use them.   As you can tell....Tilda, is one of my faves!

The card base is Stampin' Up Old Olive.  The second layer is SU Not Quite Navy.  The third layer is scrap Bazzil cardstock.  The DP is Cosmo Cricket, Early Bird Sunrise.

I wanted to give Tilda, a country look, so I used Copic Markers and colored a bit different than I usually do.  I then antiqued the edges of the paper and the DP with SU Creamy Caramel on a sponge.

I had the Prisma flowers on hand, as well as the brad and the American Crafts premium ribbon in Xmas Green.

I hope that they like her in the swap!  Thanks, for looking!

Sunflower Bloom

Well, I was surfin' around and checked out the Crafty Ho's Challenge Blog for this week.  The challenge is to create a card with a recycled or repurposed item(s), in honor of Earth Day.

Of course my recycling had just gone out that same morning!  Yeah, I know.   So, that left me to scrounge around the house.  I came up with the netting from the Easter ham and a cord from a tag of a fab little jacket I picked up recently.  Okay, now what?.....LOL.

Here is the card that I came up with for the challenge:

The black cardstock is SU Basic Black.  The other cardstock is from my scrap bin.

As mentioned above, my repurposed items are the black netting from the Easter ham and the cord from a clothing tag.

The sunflower image is from Delta Creative / Rubber Stampede, Sunflower II.  The sentiment is a Hampton Art / G Studio rubber stamp.

I colored the image with Copic Markers.  I used my Cuttlebug folder Diamonds in the Rough for the black layer.

Thanks, for the challenge.  It made me think outside of the box, for items to repurpose!

Flower Smiles

If any of you are on the SCS site, please check out Viv's (Blusky) new swap.  It is titled New Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Swap.  The swap is for a great cause and touches the lives of many women.  You can also follow Viv's blog for updates on the fight against breast cancer.

Here is the card that I sent in for the swap.....okay, so I did not use pink.....but the swap was open for color and I liked the cheery flowers!

The black layers are SU Basic Black.  The yellow layers are SU Summer Sun.  The DP is Cosmo Cricket Garden Variety Sunshine, which I put little Stickle drops in the center of the flowers.

I used Copic Markers to color the flower image.  The flower image is from Doodlebug Friends set.  The sentiment is from Hero Arts Thinking of You set.

I had the flower eyelet and the ribbon on hand.  I also used red, green and yellow Stikles.  The yellow flowers were from a Paper Shaper punch.  The tags are from SU punches.

I hope the women who receive them feel the love, as they are heroes!

I Love Eggs!

Easter, is a just a few days away!   I finished my cards and mailed them this week.  They should be arriving and hopefully creating a smile any minute now.

I have been downloading and collecting digital images for a while.  I had not actually worked with any of them, until I worked on this card.  I have to say that the digi images are super easy to use....no, really....like if you have not tried them, you need to!

Here is the card that that the digi image inspired:

The digital image is All Cracked Up by Prairie Fairy.  The sentiment is a G Studio rubber stamp.

The image is colored with various Copic Markers.  The heart in the sentiment is filled in with Stickles - Patina in color.

The cardstock, ribbon, eyelets were all items that I had on hand.

I used my Cuttlebug with the Sizzix Dots 'N Flowers embossing folder.

Thanks, for taking the time to look at my Easter card!

It's Official....

Well, I finally have looked at all of the blog hops, challenges and such long enough as an outsider. I did have to create a blog, so now I can come out and play with you all!

I have read many blogs, but am new to creating one for myself.  I am sure that I will have some questions along the way, but was fairly easy to create.  Well, let's put it this way, I have not screamed at the computer as of yet.  I am sure that may be waiting for me down the road!

I do look forward to being able to participate in all of the fun.  If you have any suggestions for me, please do share.

Have a great day~
